Actress, artist, novelist, movie director, music composer...outstanding in so many areas that she is making her own llife even more radiant. She turns her imagination into reality. Recently GHS met with powerbloggers. GHS was one of just few entertainers that these powerbloggers wanted to meet. After a feverish competition, these 10 power bloggers finally met with GHS. She shared her honest self with them...at the Manolin cafe.
-올해 부산국제영화제 당시 보이시한 드레스코드가 화제가 됐다.Regarding her dress style at the PIFF
▶ 평소 편안한 스타일로 다닌다. 평소에도 청바지에 티셔츠를 즐겨 입는다. 어찌 보면 프로의식이 없을 수도 있는데 드레스를 차려 입는 게 어색하다. 어찌해야할지를 잘 모르겠다. I like everyday comfortable clothing, such as jeans and t-shirts. Maybe I do not have that "professional counsciousness". I just feel awakward in formal dresses.
내가 과거에 들은 얘기로는 영화제 드레스코드가 청바지에 흰 티셔츠라는 얘기를 들은 적이 있다. 영화제를 위해서 꾸미는 배우를 보면 내가 봐도 즐겁고 예쁘다. 어찌됐건 나의 경우에는 시민들과 편안하게 다가가고 싶은 마음에서 편안한 복장을 택했다. From what I heard before about attending movie screenings, the dress code was jeans and white t-shirt. I also love watching other movie stars come out dressed so pretty. However, for me, I prefer to feel closer and comfortable with the public and that is why I dressed more for comfort.
드 레스나 노출된 의상을 입으면 배우와의 거리감이 느껴질 것 같다. 조금 더 편안하기 위해서였다. 사실 그날 또 갑자기 가게 됐다. 안성기 선배님이 전날 전화로 오라고 하셨다. 스타일리스트 분들과도 얘기할 시간도 없었다. 그래서 원래 입던 옷을 입고 갔다. I feel that I am putting distance between myself and the public if I wear formal dresses with too much exposure. Actually I was not planning to attend the event. The day before, Ahn Sung Gi sunbaenim invited me to come. I did not even have time to consult a stylist. So I just wore what I have.
집에서 바지입고 왔다고 회사에 말씀드렸다. 방송에서는 워스트, 베스트를 나눈다. 하지만 선배님들이 예뻐라 해주셨다. 원래 여배우들이 드레스를 입으면 서로 비교가 되기 때문에 함께 있는 것을 싫어하시는데 나와 함께 입고 싶어 하시더라. I did inform the YG about what I wore. I know that the media will divide the attendees into the best and the worst dressers. However, sunbaenims still welcomed me without any complaints. As you know, actresses hate to be together in these events because they are constantly compared. However, many wanted to be with me.
옷의 가격? 사실 지금 마시고 있는 음료수 값을 다 합쳐도 미치지 못하는 저가의 옷이다. 브랜드 옷을 잘 안 입는다. 싫어하는 건 아니다. 편안한 옷을 직접 만들기도 한다. 워스트로 뽑힐지언정 편안하게 입는 게 좋다. 그게 나만의 생각이다. the price of my clothes at the PIFF? Actually even if we add up all the prices of the beverages on this table, the price of my clothes won't add up to the amount. It is not that I do not like brand name clothings. It is just that I don;t wear them often. sometimes I make my own comfortable clothing. If I were going to be picked as the worst dresser, I might as well dress very comfortably. That was my thought.

▶ 어릴 때는 매일 생각이 다르기 때문에 정리가 안됐다. 과거 써 놓았던 것을 지금 가지고 있는데, 지금 생각하지 못했던 일을 생각했더라. 순수한 생각, 기발한 생각을 했더라. 사회생활을 하다 보니 점점 현실적으로 변하는 것 같다. 과거에는 혼자 생각했다면 요즘에는 함께 생각을 나누게 되는 것 같다.
-요리하는 모습이나 춤추는 모습은 상상이 안 된다.(About cooking and dancing..I covered it.)
▶무엇이든 일단 하는 게 중요하다고 생각한다. 얻는 게 있을 테니까. 댄스는 일단 민망하고 뭐라고 해야 할지. 내 분야는 아닌 것 같다. 내가 뭐든 달려드는 스타일이긴 하지만 댄스는 아니다.
요 리? 과거 남자친구가 있을 때 샌드위치를 만들어서 도시락도 싸고 했다. 처음에는 남자친구가 고마워하고 맛있다고 해서 자신감이 생겼었는데, 어느 날부터인가 그냥 사먹자고 하더라. (her story about her old bf who initially liked her sandwiches and then later wanted to buy food.)
-일러스트가 화제가 됐다. 그림을 그릴 때의 감정변화가 있나. Your illustrations were big news. Does drawing changes your mood?
▶ 떨어지는 낙엽만 봐도 눈물이 날 때가 있는 법이지 않나. 나도 우울할 때가 있다. 결국에는 긍정적으로 돌아오더라. 나의 경우 우울할 때는 그림을 안 그렸다. 우울할 때 그림을 그리면 더 우울하다. 일단은 정신이 혼미하면 손가락에 집중을 할 수 없다. 볼펜 일러스트는 섬세해야한다. 술에 취하면 집중을 못한다. We all sometimes get teary-eyed even if we may see the leaves fall. I also have days when I am depressed. Ultimately I do become positive. For me, I cannot draw when I am depressed. If I do, I get even more depressed. If my mind is not clear, I cannot concentrate enough to make my fingers work do their job. Ball pen illustratons require detail work. If I am intoxicated, I cannot focus.
-생활 속에서 실천하고 있는 환경운동은 무엇인가. (being an environmentalist----I covered it.)
▶좋게 말하면 실천이고 나를 위해서 하는 일이 있다. 알러지가 좀 있어서 세제로 빨래를 잘 못한다. 이물질이 묻은 부분만 세제를 사용한다. 그냥 물빨래한다. 그게 좋더라.
생활 속에서 진득하게 실천 하는 건 없는데 양심껏 살려고 노력한다. 그게 가장 중요하다고 생각한다. 언제나 하는 것은 자동차 불 켜 놓은 차는 문자를 보내거나 전화를 걸어서 꺼달라고 한다.

▶ 존경하는 존재다. 여장부셨다. 내가 하고 싶은 영화, 영화사 대표를 하셨던 멋있는 사람이셨다. 무엇하나 놓치고 가지 않는다. I respect her being. She was a heroin, an Amazon. She was the representative of the movie production company that made my movie. She was amazing. She never misses anything.
돌아가시고 나니까. 음..살아 계실 때는, 만날 때만 보는 거 아니냐. 돌아가시니까 만나지 않아도 하늘에서 다 보고 계신 거 아니냐. After she passed away, uhm..when she was alive, I only saw her when I met her. Now that she has passed, even if I do not see her, she is constantly seeing me from above.
지금 내가 장편 영화를 준비하고 있는데, 정 대표님과 일 하셨던 분들이 지금 나와 다 같이 일하고 있다. Everybody that worked with Representative Jung now work with me on my full-length movie.
전에는 일 끝나면 끝났다고 전화를 했었는데 지금은 내가 전화를 걸지 않아도 다 알고 있다. 이제는 (고 정승혜대표가) 나를 다 보고 있는 사람이 되어서 '부끄럽게 살지 말아야겠다'는 생각을 한다. 꿈에도 나타나서 '똑바로 살아라'고 위협하시는 분이 됐다. Previously, I used to call her when I was done with work. Now, even if I don't call her, she knows all. Because she watches me and over me constantly now, I cannot live my life shamefully. She is a kind of person who would even appear in my dreams to threaten me to live straight.
저를 돌아보게 되는 거울이다. 사실 좀 짜증이 날 때도 있다. 아 내가 좀 잘못해도 '다보고 있을 것 아니야' 뭐 이런 생각 때문이다. 왜 돌아가셔서...음 그래서 더 양심껏 살고 있다. She is my mirror of reflection. Actually sometimes I get irritated. She will see me even if I do make mistakes. (She will be constantly there whether she likes it or not!) Why did she have to go....uhm...so I try to live my life even more conscientiously.

▶부끄러운 얘기다. 안간 지 2년 됐다. 예전에 열심히 다녔다.

▶추천하고 싶은 여행지는 가보진 않았는데 마라도다. 꼭 한번 가보고 싶다. Domestically, Mirado (an island near Jejudo, I think)

▶해외여행? 파리는 한번 가보고 '와'했다. '여기 뭐지?' 이런 생각이 들었었다. 호주 사막 캠핑카 여행도 해보고 싶다. Overseas, She went to Paris once and was amazed by it. (I wonder if this was when she did the MV with Taebin.) She also wants to go to the dessert in Australia in a camping car. (I know she also said she wanted to go to South Pole. She was planning a trip with a friend--maybe the camping car trip to Autralia?)

▶ 꿈은 진짜 많이 꾼다. 이상형은 매번 달라지는 것을 느낀다. 어렸을 때는 잘생긴 남자를 만나고 싶었다. 그다음은 성격. 그다음은 능력. 그 다음은 나를 이해할 수 있는 사람이 좋다고 생각하게 됐다. I really dream a lot. My ideal man has changed over the years. When I was young, I ony wanted to meet a good-looking man. Then, his personality became more important, then his ability and then, his ability to understand me.
만나서 밥을 먹다가도 나를 좀 챙겨주는 사람을 만났으면 좋겠다는 생각이 들기도 한다. 나는 배신을 당해서 헤어진 적이 있다. 4년 만난 남자였다. 남친이 바람나서 헤어졌다. 사실 헤어지는 순간까지도 행복했었다. 그래서 당시 굉장히 힘들었다. 그래서 나에게 의리를 지키는 남자였음 좋겠다는 생각을 했다. For me, I want to meet someone who want to develop our relationship together, someone who is willing to compromise and who is willing to look at many sides not just his point of view. Of course, I also need to manage myself well. I just don't want one-way relationship.
나 와 다른 일하는 사람도 만나보고 같은 쪽도 만나봤는데 다른 일을 하는 사람은 이해의 폭이 좁고, 같은 일 하는 사람은 자격지심이 생기더라. 그 사람을 존중해주는 사람이 되고 싶다. I have met men who work in the fields that are both similar and different from mine. The ones who do not work in my field, they tend not to be so understanding. For the ones who work in my field, we may become reproachful and guilty towards each other. I want to become a kind of person who respects the other person.
사귀 고 내 남자가 되면 무언가 서로 존중하는 것보다는 충고하는 게 더 많아지는 것 같다. 100%이해하기 힘들어지는 상황이 발생한다. 일방적인 이해보다는 절충이 필요하다고 생각한다. 멋있으면 더 좋다. 나는 결혼에 대한 환상이 크다. After the relationship starts and he becomes my person, respect for each other may drop and we may give each other more warnings and advices. ▶ 꿈은 진짜 많이 꾼다. 이상형은 매번 달라지는 것을 느낀다. 어렸을 때는 잘생긴 남자를 만나고 싶었다. 그다음은 성격. 그다음은 능력. 그 다음은 나를 이해할 수 있는 사람이 좋다고 생각하게 됐다. I really dream a lot. My ideal man has changed over the years.
